Our story
Slabtown was named after scrap lumber.
It was the stretch of northwest Portland where the mills stacked their slab wood. Then a rail yard, then warehouses, and now mostly condos with a roaster wedged in between them. We kept the old name because it's honest about the work. There’s a drum roaster, a packing table, and a stack of boxes waiting on the mail. Everything we make leaves within two days, which is the only real advantage a small roaster has over a big one, so we spend all of it there.
